Senior Environmental Scientist and Project Manager.

Keith E. Leese is a Senior Environmental Scientist with 27 years of experience in supporting environmental laboratory and field research. Keith has been a Registered Environmental Health Specialist / Registered Sanitarian with the National Environmental Health Association since 1997. He has authored and co-authored over 20 publications on the indoor environment and over 25 publications and reports on Occupational / Industrial Hygiene research and Process Evaluations.

He has a broad range of experience in laboratory and field research to assess environmental components such as surface and airborne bio-contamination (mold and bacteria), antigens, dusts, volatile organic compounds, and other chemical and physical parameters. He has performed laboratory and field research support on indoor environmental quality, the microbiological assessments of buildings and industrial processes, and cleaning product efficacy. He has also performed research support on other environmental issues such as medical waste treatment efficacy and emissions, wood-stove emissions, industrial and public wastewater, PCBs and dioxins, and clean coal gas.

He worked on the first method ever developed to assess worker exposures to blood and body fluid splashes when serving as Field Coordinator for a two-year NIOSH – funded field study, investigating and quantifying biological, chemical, and particulate exposures to medical waste treatment workers operating alternative treatment technologies at various US sites. Study results established guidance for health and safety of medical waste treatment workers everywhere.

His current activities involve the performance of industrial hygiene and environmental quality surveys to assist commercial and industrial clients, construction companies, insurance companies, attorneys, realtors, re-mediation companies, and homeowners with the assessment and re-mediation of mold contamination in buildings using current accepted and scientifically derived guidelines. He also performs field and laboratory assessments of cleaning products and processes.
