Environmental Scientist, Analyst, and Manager
Cathy A. Richmond is an environmental scientist with six years analytical experience in biocontamination of water, air, dusts, and bulk materials, to include indoor air quality surveys and commercial sample analyses.
Ms. Richmond has been responsible for the analysis of samples for the Environmental Microbiology Performance Analytical Testing Program (EMPAT), an accreditation program of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA); and has provided laboratory and field research support in the areas of indoor environmental quality, to include the microbiological assessments of buildings and industrial processes, as well as cleaning product efficacy. Recently, she provided research support for a national study investigating antibiotic and antibacterial cross-resistance in human skin bacteria isolated from individuals in the home environment.
Ms. Richmond holds a BS in Health from Kent State University. She has received additional training in fungal microscopy from the Harvard University School of Public Health and in medical mycology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
